A Bella Blossom Valentine

Howdy! Gosh I can hardly believe its been 4 months since my last post. Ive been stamping, honest! This card has been "in the works" since about October, so it has taken me 3 months to finally be happy with it. I was having trouble with the size of it. It fills the whole card and I was trying to add too many embellishments. Ive finally found a happy medium.. its so ME! I was getting very disappointed with the stamp set, so I would set it aside and work on something else for a while. Every session would start with this card, but end with it put aside yet again. Not today! I love the combo of Pink Pirouette and River Rock, they go together so well. I also love the new Friendly Words wheel from SU. I hope they come out with more images/words in this style. Very vintage.. thats me :) I cant believe I got a card done several days ahead of time.. Im usually a midnight the night before kind of gal. I think my hubby will like this card. Thanks for stopping by!

Breckenridge or Bust!

Only a month late posting this (I was waiting to catch up with work and life enough to post this, but its not happening), so here it is! My husband and I went to Breckenridge CO for a Miata fun trip. That would explain the "topless driving" comment on my banner. I have a 1996 Mazda Miata that I dearly love. It is THE most fun car to drive! I belong to the Peak to Peak Miata Club out of CO (there arent any clubs that I know of in Wyoming, although I know there are at least a dozen Miata in Sheridan), and our trip this year was to Breckenridge. What a fantastic time we had! We left early Thursday morning (Sept 25th) and drove the quick way down I25 then West. Took about 8 hours to get there. On Friday we went over Independance Pass to Aspen. Wow is all I can say. The colors were prime and the driving was twisty, cant get much better than that. Saturday Dave and I decided to roam around Breckenridge for some non-driving time, and the shops and buildings were really neat. The club also had Mike Hand of Dents by Hand there to take care of any dings we might have. I had plenty of door dings and now the car is pristine. Huge difference! I swear it drives faster without the wind resistance *wink*. Sunday we wound our way home through Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, Winter park and a great 2 lane between Laramie and Wheatland. That happened to take us 13 hours to get home, but the weather was perfect, so we didnt mind. If youd like to see some more pics of the trip that was taken by club members, please visit http://www.peaktopeakmiata.org/photos/080925_photos_files/index.html (sorry, I dont know how to hide the link behind a word yet). 15 states and Canada were represented at this event, with 69 cars and almost 100 people. It was a great time, spent with friendly people and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Zoom Zoom.

Happy World Card Making Day!

Kind of exciting to have a day dedicated to stamping :) I managed to do a couple cards for the Cornish Heritage Farms challenges. Here is one of them.
This one is for the Non Traditional Colors challenge. I used Apricot Appeal and Baha Breeze inks, CHF music, tree and bird, TAC sentiment and Pearlescent Chocolate ink (sounds yummy enough to eat). Sheet music was stamped in apricot on white cs, then the tree was stamped over it in versamark and embossed with clear ep. Brayered the baha ink over it all, and the embossing is supposed to resist it. It did, but for some reason the apricot ink did also.. so its very shabby looking. I love how it turned out. Bird is stamped on white and colored with apricot and baha inks and an aquapainter. Chocolate was sponged around the outside edge of main layer and also used for the sentiment. Pretty quick card to make. I especially like to play with different techniques. Hope you were able to stamp a little today. Have a great day!

A Rare Occurance...

Today was a rare day here in Wyoming. We usually have very low humidity, but today was an exception. Woke up to a very foggy morning, and it was still very thick on my way to work at 9 AM.
September 1st saw snow on our mountains (I live near the Big Horn Mountains), and it hasn't warmed up enough to melt it away. No snow in town yet, but we have had a lot of rain this year. Considering we have been in a drought for the past 5+ years, it is very welcome. This year was one of the greenest, prettiest summers I ever remember. You can see how green everything is in my backyard.
Have a great day,
Brenda
